ARTIST STATEMENT

My work explores what it means to be human within systems of our own creation. Through painting and mixed media, I investigate how technological, economic, social, and environmental forces shape the way we experience ourselves, one another, and the world around us.

Using landscape as both subject and metaphor, I create imagined environments where natural forms, industrial structures, and contemporary materials coexist. These works reflect the tensions of modern life: experience and efficiency, connection and individuality, wonder and control, growth and preservation.

At the heart of my practice is a belief that humanity is an ongoing process of becoming. While the systems we create promise order, productivity, and progress, human life remains complex, emotional, and continually unfolding. Rather than positioning technology or industry as opposing forces to humanity, I approach them as expressions of it—revealing our ambitions, contradictions, and desire to make meaning.

Ultimately, my work asks how we navigate the landscapes and systems we build while remaining connected to ourselves, each other, and the mystery of being human.
